A Creative Regulation Doula offers non-clinical, trauma-aware support designed to help children, teens, and adults calm their nervous systems, reconnect with their inner selves, and express emotions safely. This support is delivered through creative tools, sensory experiences, and choice-led play that respects each individual’s pace and comfort.
Unlike traditional therapy or coaching, Creative Regulation Doula sessions are entirely client-led. There is no pressure to talk, perform, or achieve specific outcomes. Instead, clients are invited into a gentle, non-judgmental space where they can regulate, rest, and explore who they are when they feel emotionally safe.
🧠 What Happens in a Session?
Sessions take place in a calming environment, filled with sensory-rich and creatively stimulating tools, such as:
- Coloring materials, clay, fiber arts, face paint, and sensory bins
- Puppets, costumes, felt boards, swings, and hammocks
- Calming music, mindfulness practices, and aromatherapy
- Books, quiet podcasts, and comfortable spaces to simply rest
Clients might choose to:
- Create art or explore texture through tactile materials
- Co-regulate with the presence of a therapy dog
- Engage in a tea ritual or try playing music
- Be still and breathe in silence
Each session is a flexible, client-centered experience. What unfolds depends entirely on what feels right in the moment. The goal is emotional safety, nervous system regulation, and authentic self-expression — on your terms.
